Why is my device looking for firmware updates?
It is normal for the device to look for firmware updates if the device has left the facility, and since that date, there has been a new firmware update to the OL1 device. If your tablet is wifi connected, it will check our cloud platform to confirm it has the latest version for the device. If it does not have the latest version, it will prompt you to update. It normally takes about 60-90 seconds to update the firmware.
It ensures you have the most up-to-date version of the device. Sometimes the firmware updates are designed to fix bug fixes, so they can be critical.
How to update the firmware?
Here is a quick fix to get the firmware updated:
- Go to the tablet’s home screen.
- Unplug the OL1 from the tablet (disconnect the cable cord).
- Plug the OL1 into the tablet (reconnect the cable cord).
- If any pop-ups appear at this stage, press "Allow".
- You should be redirected to the Prosaris app.
- A notification will pop up asking to allow UART connection and press allow all.
- The app will now automatically check for firmware updates every time you open the Prosaris app.
- Navigate to settings in the Prosaris app and check to see that the Product Version is 0.3.26 or higher.
