This article outlines the steps to connect the Minno Tablet to your companies Wi-Fi.
We have seen this problem before. It could be one of two problems. Either the tablet settings are blocking pop-ups needed to connect to Wi-Fi OR your company IT restrictions are blocking the tablet from connecting to Wi-Fi. Luckily, there are a few ways to fix this.
Connect to a cellular hotspot and allow pop-ups:
- Go to the tablet Settings.
- Tap on Network & Internet (or similar).
- Select Hotspot & tethering.
- Turn on your cellular (mobile) hotspot.
- Tap Wi-Fi Hotspot and toggle it on.
- Select your phone's hotspot once it shows up.
Update the pop-up settings:
- Open the Chrome Browser (or any browser you are using) on your Minno Tab A8.
- Tap on the Three-Dot Menu located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
- Scroll down to find Site Settings and tap on it.
- In the Site Settings menu, find and select Pop-ups and Redirects.
- Toggle the switch to Allow pop-ups. This will allow all pop-ups or you can add exceptions for specific websites.
- You can now disconnect your phone's hotspot, and try to connect to the company Wi-Fi.
If you still aren't receiving the pop-ups please try the following:
- Connect to the company Wi-Fi in the Wi-fi settings.
- Go to Google Chrome, and type in the search bar "1.1.1.1" or "8.8.8.8" and this should redirect you to the Wi-Fi to the landing page.
If you are still experiencing issues connecting to Wi-Fi, please contact your IT support to make sure there is nothing blocking the tablet from connecting to the company wifi.
